Clinic Information

Athletes from all sports welcome!

Hey all , my name is Tom and I am a sprinter and coach who has recently moved down to Wollongong.

I’ve been a high level sprinter for a number of years now and coaching lots of youth athletes along the way. I am looking to kick start things in this new location with a special $15 School Holiday Clinic.

The goal is to give athletes of all sports a chance to improve their running. Most are never taught how to correctly sprint and yet it is one of the most valuable skills to have in majority of sports. There is also no expectation in terms of level or ability, the session will cater to all participants.

If you are a experienced sprinter, this is a great opportunity for you to get some detailed feedback that you can then use for future competitions and training.

I will be hosting this event at Beaton Park Athletic Centre (the soccer/cricket field) on the 9th of October. To ensure everyone who attends gets my absolute attention and feedback, the number of participants will not be extensive.

We start with a sprinters specific warm up. This includes stretching, mobility and drills.

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and half circle lines.

    Starts & Acceleration

Learn how to properly start and build into your running. Think of it like being a plane taking off down the runway.

    Sled Pulls

If you can sprint towing some extra weight, then you can fly without it!

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines.

    Top Speed

You often don’t need a lot to work on your max speed. 40m sprints at maximal intensity should do the trick.
